Musicnizer

If you want to catalogue your entire music collection and add various information for each album and artist, you will spend a long time in front of your computer. An easier way is to use Musicnizer. Its automatic features will link albums with artists, organize them in many categories and more. The most intersting part is that it can find and download information, such as biographies for artists, their albums and pictures. Additionally, it will generate reports and statistics about your collection.

The software's setup file is 15 and a half Mb large. It does not require any plug-ins or additional services, so you can run the program straight away. It is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it has low system requirements.

You can add albums and artists to your database separately. Once they are added, the software will list them under separate tabs, on the left side of the interface. Your entire collection will be organized automatically in a tree menu, under a different tab. According to the information you provide, when adding albums or artists, they will be placed in numerous categories, like albums, artists, years, genres, ratings, locations and more. It is also possible to use these categories as search parameters.

New album information can be added from audio files on your hard drive, audio CDs, from bar codes or you can search for the information online. After typing the album's title, the application will use it as a key word to perform an online search. It will display multiple results and you will have to select the correct one and go to the next step, during which Musicnizer will download various information about the album, its cover art and a list of the contained tracks. You can associate individual tracks with audio files, if you have them on your hard drive.

Adding new artists to your database is done in a similar fashion. After typing a name and selecting the correct result, the program will download the artist's biography, pictures and a list of albums. Musicnizer will automatically link artists with their albums. When you select an artist, on the left side of the interface, his information will be displayed in the larger region on the right, along with a list of albums. If one of those albums is present in your database, you may click its name to jump to its own page, where the contained tracks are listed. If an audio file on your hard drive is associated with a listed track, you may click its title to play it.
